Last week I had the pleasure of attending Google Next 2025, and from my vantage point it’s clear we’re not just inching forward in tech; we’re taking some serious leaps, particularly when it comes to AI.
While there were a number of interesting demos, presentations and developments to experience, I wanted to share the three key trends that really jumped out at me – the ones I think will have the biggest impact on Wizeline and, more importantly, on how our clients do business.
1. Agentic AI Ecosystems Have Arrived
Google wasn’t just talking about smarter AI; they were showcasing a whole new way of thinking about it. Forget single-task models; the focus is now on building complex, multi-step “agentic” systems. Think of AI that can truly understand a complex request, map out a plan to tackle it, use different tools to get the job done, and even collaborate with other AI agents.
The launch of their Agent Development Kit (ADK), the Agent Engine, Agentspace, and that crucial Agent2Agent (A2A) open protocol for inter-agent communication really underscores this shift. For us at Wizeline, and for our clients, this means we’re looking at a future where AI can handle entire workflows, leading to unprecedented levels of automation and fundamentally changing how we approach decision-making. Imagine the possibilities for streamlining complex processes and freeing up human talent for more strategic initiatives.
2. Pervasive AI integration Across the Entire Stack
AI isn’t some separate add-on anymore; it’s being baked into everything. From the infrastructure level with their new Ironwood TPU and AI Hypercomputer enhancements – specifically designed for the heavy lifting of AI training and deployment – all the way up to the everyday tools we use. What really caught my eye was how they’re making data inherently “AI-ready” with expanded vector search across all their major databases and natural language querying.
For developers like us, tools like Gemini Code Assist and Firebase Studio leveraging AI for faster prototyping and coding are game-changers. And it doesn’t stop there. Think about Google Workspace – imagine AI agents summarizing key points in a sprawling document, automating tasks in Sheets, or even generating initial content in Google Vids. This deep integration means AI will become a seamless part of our daily workflows, boosting productivity and unlocking new levels of efficiency for both Wizeline teams and our clients.
3. Enhanced Generative Capabilities & Platform Openness
We’re talking about a significant leap beyond just text generation. Imagen 3 for images looked incredible, Veo 2 for video was seriously impressive, and their advancements in audio with Chirp 3 (including voice cloning) and music with Lyria open up a whole new world of creative possibilities.
What’s particularly exciting is how Google is positioning Vertex AI as this central hub, not just for their own cutting-edge models, but also supporting models from partners like Anthropic and AI21, as well as open-source options like Llama 4. This platform’s openness is huge. It gives us and our clients the flexibility to choose the best model – balancing cost, speed, and specific capabilities – for each unique need, and even to use multiple models in tandem. The introduction of the Model Optimizer further supports this. For Wizeline, this means we can offer our clients truly tailored solutions, leveraging the best-of-breed AI for their specific challenges, without being locked into a single vendor.
Overall, Google Next 2025 painted a clear picture: the future is agentic, AI is becoming deeply ingrained in everything we do, and the power of generative AI is expanding rapidly with an emphasis on choice and openness. These trends aren’t just interesting; they’re fundamental shifts that will shape the technology landscape for years to come, and they present significant opportunities for Wizeline and our clients to innovate and drive real value.
